Building my Comfort Endurance

I have been looking for opportunities to put myself in slightly uncomfortable situations, so I can build up my endurance and slowly expand my comfort circle. When I frame my thought this way (goal-oriented), it eliminates/minimizes my fears and anxieties around trying new experiences. I felt amazing and so alive, I feel so grounded knowing that I always have something to look forward to trying/learning in every moments in life. So far, I have tried (and the list will keep growing as I grow):

  1. Agreed on going to a Wedding Social with a friend that I have been wanting to connect more with
  2. On that same said Wedding Social, signed up for an open-mic performance and sang Barbie Girl – Aqua on stage in front of the crowd (I know 4 person out of the whole crowd) (it was epic, I won Crowd Choice Award =))
  3. Planned and executed an 1-on-1 hangout with someone I recently met and looked up to at Toastmaster
  4. Calmly and gently confronted and corrected a fan during a basketball game about their behavior (screaming at my partner) – I was so surprised on how I did not take that personal and was able to stay so professional handling that
  5. Debuted my 1st Ice-breaker speech at Toastmaster – a very vulnerable and personal one (I almost cried haha)
  6. Sign-up for an open-mic performance at the Vietnamese night market for the first time (I know quite a few people in the crowd so the stake is even higher)
  7. As a perfectionist and task-oriented team leader, stopped and put my work asides to prioritize when my team member came in and wanted to have a casual chat with me
  8. Attended a social gathering and actually went up and chatted with someone I want to know more about
  9. Posted a message on my basketball group chat (that I’m not quite close to) to ask if anyone wants to join me in this outdoor Zumba class. No one replied or reacted to the messages (there were at least 40 members) – I didn’t die ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. Paused my workout (I only do this to my 3 close friends at the gym before!!!) to come up to my new friend to chat up about something I observed he was doing (watching pickle ball playing)
